Are you seeking a deeper relationship with your horse? Do you sometimes wish you knew what they were thinking, or how to reach them on a deeper level?
Join Kim McClelland of Five Star Horsemanship and Sonia Jorgensen of Spirit2Spirit for a 3-day event November 1st-3rd in Stanwood, WA at the Spirit2Spirit facility to discover your own inner knowing and self-leadership, and how that translates to your relationship with your horse.
Kim McClelland has been living and breathing horses since early childhood, starting with helping on the family cattle ranch in Texas and continuing to ride after moving to the PNW. Kim expanded her equine education by studying Natural Horsemanship, Dressage theory, Centered Riding, equine behavioral science, and groundwork both at liberty and on a line. The result of her combined studies evolved into an understanding with the horse from the horse’s point of view taking into consideration equine behavior, the relationship between human and horse, and emotional regulation for both whether riding for pleasure or performance. Using this experience, Kim teaches and trains with the ability to answer the “why” questions, bridging the similarities of different riding disciplines and building confidence in both horse and rider.
Sonia is a registered nurse who has had a deep connection to horses since she was very young. She has a background in executive leadership training, Usui Reiki, HeartMath Trauma Resiliency tools, Masterson Method equine bodywork tools, and earth-based practices such as shamanism, meditation and breathwork. She is a leadership and wellness coach with over 30 years of equine experience.
Friday will be focused on finding your center balance point within through grounding and alignment exercises intended to develop your internal congruence, balance your nervous system, and strengthen your sensitivity to the subtle language of “horse” through herd observation and interaction with the Spirit2Spirit herd. We will introduce techniques from the HeartMath institute such as the heart coherence technique, Masterson Method equine bodywork, and other concepts from various earth-based connection modalities to aid in deepening your relationship with yourself and your horse.
Saturday and Sunday you and your horse will join Kim and Sonia in the covered arena for the horsemanship portion of the clinic. Kim will aid you in identifying areas of focus between you and your horse from the ground to the saddle. Exercises will be practiced encouraging mutual awareness, an understanding of your horse’s natural behavior, and developing insight from your horse’s point of view. Sonia will aid you in noticing how you are showing up in the space and communicating to the horse through your personal mind/body/spirit connection, and how that is being translated through your partnership with your horse.
